Who we are
WatchKnitting operates this website, learning library, community, and marketplace. This policy applies when you browse, create an account, contact us, participate in the forum, buy an item, or apply to sell.
Information we collect
We may collect account and contact details, messages and forum content, order and seller-application details, device and security information, and choices you make on the site. Payment card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by WatchKnitting.
Public username and private seller identity
You choose a unique username when you create an account, or in your account if you joined earlier. That username appears publicly beside your forum posts, replies, and other community activity. Your sign-in email is not shown as your public name. If you apply to sell, we also collect your legal first and last name to review and administer your seller account. Apart from you, access to that name in the seller application and admin workspace is limited to authorized WatchKnitting administrators. Your public activity shows your username, while your storefront shows your shop name. Your legal name is not automatically shown through these public features. Payment providers may separately request identity details for payouts under their own notices.
Why we use it
We use personal information to provide accounts and services, process orders, review seller applications, support community safety, respond to messages, prevent misuse, keep required records, and improve the website. We limit collection and use to reasonable purposes connected with these activities.
Service providers and disclosures
We may share only the information needed with providers that support hosting, authentication, storage, payments, email, analytics, advertising, and marketplace fulfilment. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users, or as part of a business reorganization.
Advertising, analytics, and cookies
We may use essential storage for sign-in, security, cart, and preference features. Optional analytics or advertising technologies should be used only as described in our Cookie & Tracking Notice and according to the choices available to you.
Retention and safeguards
We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and security. We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to or correction of your personal information, ask questions, withdraw consent where applicable, or request account-related changes. Some information may need to be retained where law or a contract requires it.
Contact and updates
Contact the privacy lead using the email shown on this page. We may update this policy when our practices change. Material changes will receive a new version and effective date, and we will seek renewed consent when required.
