One knit. Two ways to wear it.
Flip Friday is a simple, relaxed knitting project that transforms into two completely different looks.
Wear the V-opening at the front for an easy belted vest, then flip the same garment around, tie the belt at the back, and wear it as a modern top with a deep V-back.
The garment is worked flat with simple shaping, seamless shoulders, and minimal finishing. The textured stitch pattern creates a lightweight, open fabric with beautiful drape.
It’s a great project for confident beginners who are ready to make a wearable garment without complicated construction.

How Flip Friday Is Constructed
The garment begins with two mirrored front panels worked separately from the hem upward.
A narrow knitted edge runs along the front opening of each panel. After working the body to the required length, a small amount of shaping creates the V-neck.
The front-edge stitches are then continued to form two short back-neck extensions.
These extensions are joined at the center back, creating the neckline and connecting the two sides of the garment.
The remaining front stitches are then joined with stitches picked up along the neckline, and the back is worked downward until it matches the front length.
Finally, the side seams are joined while leaving the upper sections open for the armholes.
A long knitted belt completes the design.
